Why the change to WFPB

 Many people have asked us why we decided to go vegan or WFPB (Whole Food Plant Based). Well, there are a few reasons the change was made.  I wanted to share these reasons to get it all out in the open.

Why we went wfpb

WFPB To Live the Word of Wisdom

As a Latter-Day Saint family, I wanted our family to live the Word of Wisdom to the fullest. The WoW as it is often referred to is important to us.  Most know about the basics no hot drinks, no drinking or smoking.  But there are also a few other parts to it that I felt prompted to do to get the fullest blessings we can.

D&C 89 11-13

11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving.

12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly;

13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine.

So based on that I felt that we needed to cut out meat to fulfill this commandment.  I know others who disagree and I am fine with that I love and respect them just the same as I did before.  I know they are free to do and understand this as they want to.

WFPB To get healthy

The next I need to lose weight.  Not only to be healthy but I did a genetic test. The test came back with I have the precursors to diabetes. Because of that, I wanted to do the WFPB.  This choice to do everything I possibly can to avoid this.  So very little sugar, no processed foods, and no meat. I am praying this does it.

So for me and my family (mainly since I do the cooking) are making this change to get healthy. As Well as to be able to receive the many blessings from living the WoW.Tam Signature
